Leadership
Founded by Paul Mullins
Sequel was founded by Paul Mullins, who brings 16 years of continuous focus on the consultancy sector, including building and leading Consultancy, Private Equity, and Executive Search practices across the UK, DACH, Nordics, and the US. This longevity provides unusual visibility into who can move, who will not, and under what conditions Partner transitions actually succeed.
Over the course of his career, Paul has managed hundreds of partner processes across a wide range of consulting firms-from start-ups to some of the most globally recognised organisations. He has a strong ability to connect with leadership teams, gaining a deep understanding of both the commercial and cultural drivers behind their requirements. Leveraging his extensive network, Paul consistently identifies and delivers well-matched partners, teams, and organisations.
He brings sector experience across TMT, Energy, Consumer, Private Equity, Industrial Goods, Financial Services, and Life Sciences, while maintaining a core focus on his areas of expertise: strategy, value creation, and transformation consulting.
Before founding Sequel, Paul played a key role in scaling a major recruitment firm, ultimately as part of the management team as Managing Director for its US and UK operations. Having built the firm both organically and inorganically then eventually selling the business, he brings first-hand insight when advising Consulting leadership at similar inflection points.
Outside of work, Paul is a family man with three children. When he’s not ferrying the kids around, he’s also the Vice Chairman of Harborough Town Football Club, a supporter of Chelsea Football Club and a golfer of limited ability.
